How to access the master program in architecture Arc5UE (five –years)

Students may enter the Master Degree in Architecture after an entrance test.

Information on dates and methods of the test can be found on the University website www.unina.it

In what the test consists of
The test of admission is unique for all the national territory and it is regulated through the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) that establishes the date of the test, the requisites to access it and the content of the test.

The test is on paper support and consists of multiple choice questions , of which only one is correct.

The topics of the test of admission are:

-general culture
- logical reasoning
- history
- drawing and representation:
- mathematics and physics

Topic of the testThe test concerns specific disciplinary sectors (whose level is tied to ministerial programs for secondary school degrees). Competence is demanded in: logic, general culture, understanding of the texts, art history, drawing, maths and physics. For the admission to the program it is requested a general culture, with correlations to the historical, social and political matters, comprehension of different kind of texts (artistic, literary, historical, sociological, philosophical, etc.) and attitudes to logical-abstract reasoning both on mathematical and linguistic issues.Logic - general cultureThe tests is aimed to verify the abilities to :- analyse a text from a lexical, syntactic and logical standpoint;- interpret, to re-phrase and to connect the information given; - correctly elaborate interconnections, implications, conclusions, discarding procedures and wrong results because arbitrary or not rigorously justified. The questions will relate to scientific essay or classical or contemporary fiction texts, or texts of actuality taken from newspapers or professional magazines. They will also concern issues of abstract nature, whose solution asks for the adoption of different forms of logical reasoning.
HistoryThe test is aimed to verify coherent criteria of chronological orientation to main characters and important historical events (ancient age, middle age, modern age, contemporary age). The knowledge will also be verified about specific artistic and architectural works.
Drawing and RepresentationThe test focuses on the ability to analyse graphics, sketches and representations and the competencies in the mastery of elementary representation notions (plants, prospects, axonometries).
Mathematics and PhysicsThe test aims to check the mastery of:- numerical and arithmetician systems (natural numbers, relative, rational, real; arrangement and comparison of numbers; order of greatness; operations, powers, radicals, logarithms), algebraic calculation, Euclidean geometry (polygons, circumference and circle, measures of lengths, surfaces and volumes, isometrics, equivalences, geometric places), analytical (bases) geometry, probability and statistic (bases) ;- elementary notions on the principles of the Mechanics (move, speed, acceleration, mass, quantity of motion, strength, weight, work and power) physical greatness, laws of inactivity, law of Newton and principle of action and reaction) - elementary notions on Thermodynamics (general concepts of temperature, heat, specific heat, expansion of the bodies).
